Walt Disney Company History - It’s early past

The Walt Disney Company enjoyed a glorious past in terms of business success and corporate recognition. It has the leading place in the global entertainment industry. This company existed for as long as 75 years. Its journey began in 1923. Its foundation was the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. This was however, an exclusive joint venture. The founders were Walt Disney along with his own brother, Roy.

Just within 3 years of the company’s inauguration, this company produced 2 movies. It also managed to purchase a nice studio in then Hollywood, California. At that time there were intense rivalry regarding distribution rights, which nearly took this company to doom. It was the orientation of the legendary Mickey Mouse, which saved this company from sinking.

By 1932, then Disney Company succeeded in winning the 1st Academy Award for the Best Cartoon, pertaining to Silly Symphony. In 1934, Disney emerged with the production of its 1st ever feature film with full-length. Then came ‘Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs’. It was released in the late 1930s and turned out to be the movie grossing the maximum at that time.

But later on, the expenditure of the production resulted into complexities regarding the following animated films. After that, the arrival of the Second World War froze the production of all the films of the Walt Disney company.

And when the war was over, this company found it hard to get started from where things were left off. Then it was in 1950, when the Walt Disney Company found its turnaround for the very first time. This was the time marked by a sheer turning point. That was the time when the very 1st live-action movie as produced. The world came to experience the Treasure Island along with an all time animated film super hit - Cinderella. During that time, Disney began some television series (probably in the mid 1950s). This was the time when The Mickey Mouse Club started out its journey.

In the mid 1950s the Walt Disney Company established another milestone. This was the time when for the first time in history, Disney started its theme park- Disneyland, in California. After that Disney hardly have to ever look back. As time passed by, it kept on climbing to the peak of popularity and business success. Despite the death of the founder in the mid 1960s, Roy managed to take this company moving forward.
