Le bassin aux nympheas, of Claude Monet, Monet Lilies Painting Sells for Record $79 Million on Tuesday evening at Christie's the auction house for Fine Art in London , beating the record for a painting from this famous French impressionist painter. The painting was sold to a woman whose identity was not revealed, she was present in the front row of the famous bidding room. The painting, which belongs to the famous series of the Nymphea, largely beat its initial estimate which was from 18 to 24 million pounds.
